Stems or multitrack?
Mixing at Mugwetkyro starts at €290 per song (up to 48 tracks), with EP/album packages at €950 and €2,450. We work from full multitracks or grouped stems. Stems are printed submixes (e.g. “Drums bus”, “Bass DI + amp”); multitracks keep every channel separate.
Stems suit projects you already rough-balanced; multitracks are better when we still comp snares or stack backgrounds. State which you will deliver in your enquiry.
Technical baseline
Bounce linear WAV or AIFF, 24 bit, one sample rate for the whole project — 48 kHz is common for picture; 44.1 or 48 kHz for music. Do not mix rates inside one song. Avoid MP3 as source; use it only as reference.
Align all stems to the same start point (bar 1). Include tempo, meter and session start if you cut to picture. Disable master bus limiters on exports; leave roughly 3–6 dB headroom.
Naming and folders
Names like 01_Drums, 02_Bass, 03_RhythmGuitar_L beat Track 14. Stick to ASCII for cross-platform archives. One folder per song; ZIP is fine — we unpack on isolated storage.
Separate instrument and vocal stems. Label lead, dub and ad-lib clearly. If you print reverbs, mark Vox_PreFX vs Vox_Dry so we do not double up effects.
What we need before mixing
Reference tracks (links or files), loudness notes as direction only — streaming services normalise anyway. Timestamped notes on trouble spots (“guitar buzz 0:42”, “harsh vocal chorus 2”). If the session was tracked in our live room, files may already sit on our systems — check your budget plan for whether mix was quoted.
2 revision rounds are included when feedback arrives in batches. Spreading tiny tweaks over weeks stretches the calendar, not the quality per pass.
Common mistakes
- Mixed sample rates across stems — pitch and timing drift.
- Exports with master limiter engaged — nowhere left to breathe.
- Wide stereo guitars out of phase — weak centre image.
- No silence at file start — harder alignment in other DAWs.
- Single copy on one drive — clone before posting hardware.

Delivery and retention
After the mix we keep project and bounces for 24 months. Files you upload are handled per our privacy policy; strip personal info from filenames if you prefer.
Large sets: encrypted download preferred. Local in Wien? Bring an SSD during Mon–Fri 10–20, Sat 10–16 — U3 Neubaugasse station, Siebensterngasse exit — about three minutes on foot to Siebensterngasse 19. Bus line 13A stops at Neubaugasse / Burggasse (around five minutes on foot)..
If you export from Ableton Live, Logic or Reaper, disable dither on every stem unless we agree otherwise; one dither stage at master is enough. Bounce with the same pan law and plugin delay compensation your mix uses, so imported stems stay time-aligned when we consolidate in our DAW.
Hand-off to mastering
The mastering source is stereo 24 bit without mix-bus limiting — similar headroom to stems. Read master formats for streaming before printing “finished” loudness yourself. Mastering from €88 per song; EP/album tiers reduce per-track cost.
Vinyl or picture deliverables need different targets — mention that before the mix so EQ and dynamics stay appropriate.
Export checklist
- Back up the DAW project, then bounce stems from bar 1.
- 24 bit, one rate, WAV/AIFF, no bus limiter.
- Clear names, folder per song, tempo note attached.
- Reference and issue list included.
- Confirm format via contact if this is new to you.
