What our mastering includes
Mastering starts at €88 per stereo song, €340 for EPs, €790 for albums — prices include 20% VAT. We check transitions, spectral balance, mono compatibility and loudness against your references. Structured feedback fits our 2 revision rounds when it targets the master.
Mastering does not rescue a weak mix. If multitracks are still open, book Mixing first — see stem exports for handover.
Loudness and platform normalisation
Spotify, Apple Music and others normalise playback differently; pushing extreme loudness can make your track play back quieter. We aim for healthy levels with transients intact, not “loud at any cost”. Integrated LUFS and true peak land in the delivery note — not a promise of chart placement, but measurable targets you can reuse when uploading through EU distributors.
Austrian radio workflows sometimes enforce stricter peaks than streaming-only releases — state the use case in your enquiry.
File formats at a glance
| Format | Use |
|---|---|
WAV 24 bit | Archive, download stores, many aggregators |
FLAC | Lossless for Bandcamp-style shops |
DDP | CD manufacturing |
MP3 320 | Only when requested — not our archive default |
Default delivery is high-resolution WAV; other formats on request. Sample rate follows the mix (44.1 or 48 kHz) without pointless upsampling. We can attach a short readme describing filenames when you need instrumental, clean and explicit versions side by side.
Metadata and ISRC
ISRC codes come from labels or artists via national agencies in Austria/the EU — we do not invent them. Send a per-song list if you have codes; we can embed them in DDP when the plant requires it. Pure streaming uploads usually get metadata in the distributor UI.
Album title, track order and featured credits should be fixed before mastering; renames mean new exports. Credit and liability notes live in the disclaimer and terms.
Vinyl and special formats
Vinyl masters need HF EQ tweaks and realistic side lengths. Share plant specs — not every streaming master cuts well. Cassette or 96 kHz hi-res only make sense when the source was recorded that way.
Picture and podcast often target −24 LUFS templates; music streaming is typically hotter. If you need both, ask for separate master versions so broadcast limits do not fight streaming normalisation on a single file.
After delivery
You receive a download link or SSD handover; we retain files for 24 months. Check each track on headphones and a everyday speaker before the distributor — fixing filenames is easier than fixing a live release.
Invoicing follows terms; B2B clients with IDs such as ATU71228744 need correct VAT data for reverse charge — see legal notice.
Pre-upload checklist
- No clipping on true-peak readout (we supply numbers).
- Clean starts and ends without unintended silence or clicks.
- Instrumental and vocal versions named clearly if you need both.
- Second copy on another medium before you delete the link.
If you revisit the mix after release, book a fresh master at €88 rather than expecting ad-hoc fixes by e-mail. Small level tweaks without mix changes are sometimes quick; structural edits always start from a new stereo bounce.
